DID YOU RECEIVE THE “GIFT”? “Dont be afraid!” he said. “I bring you the most joyful news ever announced, and it is for everyone!” The Saviour–yes, the Messiah, the Lord–has been born tonight in Bethlehem! (Luke 2:10-11) Christmas time is a season of perpetual joy and peace all over the world. At home, in church, among friends, we enjoy the warmth and joy of Christmas. The trees, gifts, carols, family get togethers... all make the Christmas season a reason of happiness for all. Yet, in the midst of all the excitement at Christmas, our hearts are filled with thankfulness to God. We remember the time when God sent His greatest gift, His Son Jesus Christ into this world as a man, to save you and me. Gods great love and purpose for man was revealed through Jesus whom He sent to the earth. Christmas is not just about the nativity story. As believers, it is more real to us because now Christ has come into our hearts. The joy and peace Jesus came to give us fills our hearts and lives. It is because Jesus came that we have life in abundance now and hope for eternity in heaven. As you celebrate this time, may the assurance of salvation fill your hearts.
