DIDIt: BRIEF: Single- song art- design for a Gospel rap artiste & a 2014 nominee at the Nigerian Gospel Music Awards - D.I.D.I (Duniya Didam) for his single song release IFE(Love), featuring LEKE BENSON, produced by STEVE JAZZ, mixed & mastered by METRO. Photograph by YOURS TRULY. FONT CHOICE: Majorly used a font bearing elements resembling any of the African motifs, since the artiste is Nigerian + the fact that the title is also a Nigerian word (IFE- meaning LOVE in The Nigerian Yoruba Language). COLOURS: Phoned the artiste/ client at some point before starting the design to inquire his ...current favorite colour(s)... & he says Green & Purple, but decided to garnish the colours, harmoniously, with some tints & shades of the colours + greys of them too, in-spite of this, I deliberately used the magenta colour for the Ife text (since its a feminine colour) & I consider it a cousin of purple. Did this inquiry to deliberately break my design protocol of going about the colours objectively. SOFTWARE: The Adobe & CorrelDraw. PHOTOGRAPHY: Chose this image from a set of pictures I had photographed him myself during a photo session in a studio, (If it looks outdoor to you, that was the idea for this particular shot). Since Body Language matters a lot in the arts (AT PROFESSIONAL LEVEL, INTERNATIONALLY) I chose this one of him rubbing his palms together, in the light of the love matter. LAYOUTS: Didnt want to OVER EMBELLISH the design with the other details but to make sure I dont end up consuming the whole work area & kill the beauty of the plane space on the whit wall, like my lecturer, back then, would call it- ...Rest area for the eyes...
