DIFFERENCES There are a couple lying with their backs to each other in an air-conditioned 900 square meter house in one of the Northern suburbs of Johannesburg, not speaking because earlier tonight they argued about whether to go for a Shirovsky chandelier, or the much cheaper lead crystal option in their new home now reaching completion in Kyalami. Less than ten kilometers away, lying spoony-spoony (because of the cold) in a leaky 9 square meter corrugated iron shack in Alexandra lie another couple, also not speaking, because earlier tonight they argued about whose turn it was to get up to blow the candle out.
