DIFFICULT INSTRUCTIONS THAT BRINGS BLESSINGS SERIES! SPECIAL SUNDAY SERMON: 20:07:2014 Prepared by Pastor Charles Chanda INSTRUCTION TO GO AND FACE YOUR MOST FEARFUL ENEMIES! 2Ch 20:16 To morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel. This is something everyone would want to avoid in life, to face your most fearful enemies face to face. The worst part of the scenario here was that Jehoshaphat was even given the exact location of the enemies and the time. Just see how many of us are afraid to answer certain calls especially when it is approaching month end and some even go to the extent of lying. That life is over in Jesus Name. We will approach all our enemies at the instruction of the Lord in Jesus Name. Brothers and sisters how many of us would surely approach a two million army with only two hundred thousand soldiers? It was a great test of faith for Jehoshaphat and thank God this king knew the secret of how to win great battles of life. May the Lord help us in Jesus Name. THE REALITY OF LIFE’S BATTLES! 2Ch 20:1-2 It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them other beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle. 2. Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be in Hazazontamar, which is Engedi. Jehoshaphat received an intelligence report about the enemies that were coming against him. Most people are just interested to be told about their problems and unfortunately some people have taken advantage of this and are making big time business out of it. They call themselves prophets and they have even changed their titles to Prophet so and so. If you call them by their names, they become so angry to such an extent that they will even deny you your own prophecy! God have mercy on this generation. Jesus was called Jesus of Nazareth and not Jesus of Jerusalem and he never got offended. Let us be true servants of God and not only informers. Battles are real and that is why to live a Christ less life in this world is a high risk. There was nothing that Jehoshaphat had done to get into this problem and this is again where most believers miss it. When they see their brothers and sisters having problems that are immeasurable, they conclude that it’s because they have sinned. What I am telling you is something I have seen and experience in my life. I had an ordinary accident and to be honest with you there was a great number of Christians in my own church who sinned through gossip and back biting and unfortunately some till today they have failed even to make the restitution they teach and believe. Remember that our battles will differ from believer to believer and all we need to do is to support one another in such times. THE RIGHT RESPONSE TO DISTURBING NEWS! 2Ch 20:3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. Just think about this for a moment! You are the command in chief of the army and you are told that an enemy is on the way to fight against you, what do you do. Its common sense that you have to send information to the Barracks for the soldiers to get ready but this is not what Jehoshaphat did. He set himself to seek the Lord and involved others as well. My friend can you see what damage your common sense has done to your family? Let us learn to acknowledge the Lord in all things. There is power in prayer and fasting. Great battles of life are won on our knees and not in committee meetings. Do not be lazy in prayers. REAPING THE BENEFITS OF BELONGING TO A RIGHT CONGREGATION! 2Ch 20:4-13 And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the LORD: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD. 5 And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD, before the new court, 6 And said, O LORD God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee? 7 Art not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever? 8 And they dwelt therein, and have built thee a sanctuary therein for thy name, saying, 9 If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help. 10 And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and mount Seir, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them, and destroyed them not; 11 Behold, I say, how they reward us, to come to cast us out of thy possession, which thou hast given us to inherit. 12 O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee. 13 And all Judah stood before the LORD, with their little ones, their wives, and their children. Do not just be content to be in any church but one where there is unity of faith, a spiritual family that recognizes God as having supreme authority. Some of us are in churches because our parents have been there. What a terrible situation to find yourself in a church where they do not even talk about salvation. Those who are in gospel churches must remember to bear one another’s burden. Yes you may not have the material resources that others need but you can pray. Remember also that it is great wickedness to pray when you have what you are praying for. Christianity is a practical way of life and not what we are seeing today where its only a privileged few who are getting all the benefits that are in the congregation. May the Lord reign in his church in Jesus Name. REAL PROPHETS ARE NOT A PRODUCTS OF THE ACADEMIC WORLD AND THE WORLD NEEDS THEM! 2Ch 20:14-15 Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the LORD in the midst of the congregation; 15 And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but Gods. A prophet from God does not operate like a radio where each time you turn it you find a voice. Do not mind these false prophets of the face book who only need your amen! To be a prophet of God is more than that. Do you realize that the prophet did not go to Jehoshaphat and give him counsel about the war until the congregation was engaged in prayer and fasting. The spirit of God knows the time and season to give a prophetic word. Today prophets will even prophecy to you when they have not been praying for days. Stop cheating people with familiar spirits. I am speaking as God’s voice and not in my capacity as a servant of God. How do you tell people that the first two hundred people to type amen without qualifying who they are will receive the miracle? That is a prophecy from Satan my friend. So witches, fornicators and drunkards as long as they are among the first two hundred will be the miracle? You must be joking and stop joking with the things of God. RESULTS OF TRUE PROPHETIC PREACHING! 2Ch 20:16-17 To morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel. 17 Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you. 18 And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the LORD, worshipping the LORD. 19 And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites, and of the children of the Korhites, stood up to praise the LORD God of Israel with a loud voice on high. 20 And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper. 21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth for ever. May the Lord give us prophetic preachers in Jesus Name. To those who are preaching today in the various church, did you hear from the Lord or it’s the usual stories that people are tired of hearing. Spend time to hear on behalf of people so that when you appear in public, you are the mouth piece of God. May the Lord help you and me in Jesus name. The action of Jehoshapt that followed shows when people hear the voice of God. The focus changed from the problem to the worship of God. Praise the Lord. This is how to overcome worry, focus on the greatness of God and not the greatness of your problem! YOUR ENEMIES ARE SMITTEN IN JESUS NAME! 2Ch 20:22-23 And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten. 23 For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another Victory has come your way in Jesus Name. LET US PRAY! Father we thank you for you are Jehovah Nissi, the Lord our Banner who fights battles on our behalf. I specifically bring your children who have been serving you faithfully and are now confronted with a host of problems. I pray that you set ambushments right now and give them victory in Jesus Name. You spirit of discouragement, I break your power in Jesus Name. Every Satanic bondage, I cancel it in Jesus Name. Let this day be a day of glad tidings for your children in Jesus Name. Thank you Lord for the answer. In Jesus Name I pray!
