DIOCESE OF TULSA Pastoral Studies Institute October Classes – These classes are free to all Liturgy of the Hours Each part of the Mass is discussed to help the Catholic better appreciate the public prayer of the Church, from the composition of the Lectionary (how and why the Sunday and daily reading are what they are), to how the Liturgical Year operates. The Liturgy of the Hours (The “Divine Office”) is also explained, and the participant will pray Evening Prayer as a “hands on” way of experiencing this public prayer. Students are invited to bring their Liturgy of the Hours. Day & Time: Thursdays, Oct 2,9,16 & 23, 7:00-8:30 p.m. Instructor: Deacon John Donnelly, J.D. Location: Aquinas Hall, Church of the Madalene St. Thomas on Sin In this class we will examine St. Thomas’ Treatise on Sin presented in his Summa Theologiae. Day & Time: Mondays, Oct 6, 13, 20 & 27, 7:00-8:30 p.m. Instructor: William Dunn, S.T.L. Join us once a month for a discussion of these works of fiction largely written by Roman Catholics, and all dealing with the central themes of faith, the human condition, incarnation, sacrament, redemption, the struggle between good and evil, and sin and grace. A brief introduction to the author will be followed by a moderated conversation on the book and its insights on faith and life. Read the book and join the discussion .
