DIRT BOX DISCO - 2015 NEW ALBUM. VINYL. MORE TEE SHIRT DESIGNS. NEW TOWNS/CITIES REQUIRED TO ADD TO CURRENT LIST OF REPEAT VENUES/PROMOTERS...ALL BOOKINGS MADE AT [email protected] HERES A REVIEW OF THE RECENT BAND APPEARANCE AT REBELLION....PRETTY MUCH SUMS UP WHERE WE ARE AT AT THE MOMENT AS WE PUSH AHEAD FOR 2015.... It’s at this point we take the plunge and decide to get into the Casbah early for the 7:15 appearance from Uberpalooza headliners Dirtbox Disco, because this year it seems that next to Cock Sparrer, the boys from Burton On Trent are probably the second most popular T Shirt of the weekend. So arriving suitably early we then catch The Argies playing out there set via a Spanish version of ‘Police On My Back’, surreal I guess, but nowhere as surreal as the huge crowd that then starts to assemble ready for a band I first saw play to about 30 people in my home town a little over two years ago. It is testament to the band’s hard graft and above all I guess great songs that by the time Dirtbox do finally take to the stage there are a rumoured 1,300 shoehorned into the Casbah’s 1,200 capacity hall, and boy does the place go mental. From the impromptu crowd led introduction of ‘Dirtbox Days’ through to the set closing ‘I Don’t Wanna Go Out With You’ the boys simply can do no wrong, just ask any of the 64 stage divers they manage to get in just under three quarters of an hour or any member of the capacity crowd all singing back every single word of anthems such as ‘Burning’ or ‘Tragic Roundabout’, I’ll think you’ll find they loved it each and every one of them. Me, I’m actually overcome with emotion to the point where during the final choruses of ‘I Don’t Wanna Go Out With You’ I’m actually choking back the tears of pride in a band I’m proud to have seen develop to what must be main stage contenders for next year’s Rebellion – yes they are booked in already, that’s how much of a draw these guys are right now. You just need to make sure you catch them in a club while you still can.
