DISABILITY AND #lupus: SHARE with everyone who may need help with applying for disability in the US. Considering disability presents so many challenges. It starts with coming to grips with the possibly of losing ones job, losing ones profession, being a contributor to society (often not realizing there are other ways to do so) ... and then being totally lost in a very difficult process. It is usually too hard to do alone. Getting professional help at the very beginning is truly the best way to go. Consider contacting Allsup Life Reclaimed who claim a 97% success rate. Tai Venuti (allsup/about-us/news-room/resources-for-journalists/allsup-experts/tai-venuti) of Allsup came to our 27th Maryland Lupus Summit, and her presentation was very well received by our Lupus Foundation members. I talked with her personally and she truly is dedicated to helping. Their website to get help is: allsup/ Another excellent alternative is to get a lawyer who specializes in disability. There are many throughout the country. We are proud to have one such specialist on our local Lupus Foundation board, SharonChristieLaw, and she is in the Washington DC and Baltimore area. I have heard wonderful things about her services, and I can vouch personally that she is really a very nice person and dedicated to helping lupus patients. (of note, she did not ask me to post this here, nor do I have any personal connection financially to what she does.... I just know she offers a good service.) sharonchristielaw/ Dont try doing it on your own. Make sure to get help as early in the process as possible.
