DISABLED PARKING This has been mentioned before, but its something that makes me angry. On Friday and yesterday I saw examples of abled bodied people parking in disabled carparks at the Post Office, the Warehouse and the New World on South Hill. I have never seen people being so absolutely cavalier about it. Almost a I dare you to their attitude. The BBC has made a series of programmes about changing peoples attitudes to this sort of thing and they filmed some disabled car parks over a period of time and noted how often they were used by able-bodied people. Then they replaced the disabled carpark logo with a photograph of a real life, disabled person with the words — Please do not use my car park, I need it and the situation changed dramatically. Most people who went to use the carpark, drove in, saw the new sign and backed out again. There were, however, some who just didnt care.
