DISCHARGED!! He decided he was too much of a man to have confetti and cheering so he opted for hugs, instead. Since the first of June, David has been inpatient the entire 4 months with the exception of 5 days in July. This is a huge milestone for him. We have a very long and difficult road ahead but, with any luck, he can go down that road in the outpatient setting. From here, we have to stay at Ronald McDonald House by Duke for at least 6 weeks then hopefully back home. In the meantime, its IV meds at RMH, daily visits to Duke, a gabillion pills, strict isolation from people and places, as well as super strict diet. But hell also be spending the nights stretched out on the couch at RMH watching movies instead of a hospital bed which is priceless :)
