DISCIPLINES OF A GOOD DISCIPLE: 1. The Posture of a Learner – disposition to submit their thoughts to the direction and guidance of their mentor. 2. The Attitude of a Protégé – desire to be like your master, and having the loyalties to him/her. To a protégé, their master is a source of insight in all areas of life. They elevate no other master above their own. 3. The Discipline of a Student – willingly submitting oneself to teaching, testing/appraisal, and feedback from your teacher. Learn to neither take offence nor submit to the temptation to assess and compliment yourself, or substitute the assessment of your peers/’strangers’ for that of your teacher. 4. The Heart of a Servant – the strength to submit your personal timelines and agendas to that of your authority – be they scheduled before or after that of your leader. A servant is flexible, and defers to their master. Also the understanding that doing what you should be doing is not a primary basis for expecting to be celebrated by your authority, and its absence is not ground for being offended. 5. The Resourcefulness of a believer – as the women who resourced the ministry of Jesus did, it is crucial that you stand behind the vision and direction of your leader. Believe them not only in word but in deed – supplying your encouragement, knowledge, time, finances, etc to make IT happen. Regards, Dr. Rakiro.
