DISCLAIMER A facebook post by Chris Finebone, the Publicity - TopicsExpress

DISCLAIMER A facebook post by Chris Finebone, the Publicity Secretary of the APC in Rivers State, has been brought to my attention. In the said post he alleged that an unnamed individual from our organisation RIVERS CONVERGE is behind Rivers Amachree, an alleged pseudonym that is believed to be working against the interest of the APC. I am shocked and dismayed that Chris Finebone would engage in politics of mudslinging and promote the idea that I participate in dirty politics. I met and worked with Chris Finebone during my tenure as an Electoral Commissioner at RSIEC, when he represented the interest of some political parties. Chris Finebone knows that I do not participate in or encourage dirty or guerilla tactics in politics. I have always taught, encouraged and practiced clean and fair politics, and I have not changed. For the avoidance of doubt, and to the best of my knowledge, no one in RIVERS CONVERGE, is either overtly or covertly associated with or behind the pseudonym Rivers Amachree. Rivers Amachree is not known to us and does not promote the interest of RIVERS CONVERGE. Our online investigation has shown that as at today there are 2 accounts in the name of Rivers Amachree on facebook and none of them represents our interest. RIVERS CONVERGE is populated by very decent women and men working under my leadership to evolve better rules of engagement and values reorientation to enhance the wellbeing of our people. We are all members of the PDP committed to reforming our politics and enhancing the fortunes of our Party in State and National elections. The attempt by Chris Finebone to damage the name, reputation and interests of RIVERS CONVERGE is regrettable and unfortunate. RIVERS CONVERGE believes in multiparty democracy and welcomes the participation of the APC in both the State and National politics. As an individual, there is a fake account in my name with my family portrait. These are the downsides of the social media, which we all have to learn to deal with rather than make defamatory allegations against individuals or organisations. I recall that the last time a member of the APC made an allegation against me, I called Chief Chukwuemeka Eze, an APC Chieftain to complain directly. I did not take it to the public domain. I would have expected that Chris Finebone would have called me if he thought that any member of my organisation had said or done something that was unbecoming. But that is not the case in this instance. While disclaiming these recurring and unsubstantiated allegations, we urge Chris Finebone to take up these matters with facebook for rectification.
