DISCLAIMER: Not to start a fight, please no name calling, but Id like some clarification on the whole Columbia County hospital issue. I know I voted for it, allowed my property taxes to go up to fund it (because we desperately need a hospital in this county), and then, when it was found out that the whole handling of the funding, etc.was mismanaged, we voted to have our money returned. What I want to know is: 1) Has anyone ever been held accountable? 2) Has the money ever been recovered and returned to the tax payers? 3) Who were the County Commissioners then and are any of them still County Commissioners? 4) What have the County Commissioners done to retrieve that money that we property owners paid to fund the hospital, to get our money back since we voted for that? (I dont want this to get ugly, please. I just dont remember how it all went down, and I want to make sure I understand before I vote for anyone in this county for any office.) Thank you.
