DISCLAIMER: The following rant isnt in no way about my immediate family such as my parents or my sister. I will never understand family, seriously I have complete strangers and FB friends that are more supportive and when an event that requires a photographer comes up will have me on alert asap. What irritates me about it is if it was me doing another photographers family members pics I would be like so why didnt Lori do your pics? I would love to know why my family is like this, they know what I do for a living and they always LOVE my photos but never fails someone else does the pics. Someone please explain this to me. If it is because I would charge them then I have to say that Yes I would charge its my source of income and it is what I do to support my family, pay the bills and for my education but as family a discount is also included and this goes for my closest friends also. So is it that they really dont like my work, dont like me personally or cant justify paying family for a service that they would pay full price elsewhere. I would like to know the answer I really am tired of trying to figure it out. Is it wrong of me to take it personal when family is like this? I try to go to my family for things they specialize in. If a family member sold or made something and I was looking to buy something like what they sell I would go to them for it, my brother in law is a mechanic and thats who we call 1st to see how much and if he has time to do the work. This is just how I think, family 1st and if that isnt going to work out then I go to someone else but only after finding out if family can or cant do it 1st.
