DISTRIBUTION OF VARIOUS AIDS TO HANDICAPPED PERSONS OF SILENT VILLAGE OF DHADKAI DODA,Sept 24: Dhadkai is a small village in the Gundoh , Tehsil of Doda district. Dhadkai is said to have the highest number of deaf and dumb persons in any village in the country and so is also known as the “ Silent Village”. At present there are approximately 81 deaf and dumb persons in addition to 45 physically and mentally handicapped persons. Sohanda 26 Rashtriya Rifles of Delta Force under the aegis of the Headquarters Suigarh Sector Rashtriya Rifles once again came forward in assisting locals of Dhadkai Village by providing Hearing Aids , Crutches / Walking Stick and Wheel chairs to 20 persons of Dhadkai village under Operation Sadbhavana 2013-14. The distribution of Hearing Aids , Crutches / Walking Stick and Wheel Charis was done by Commander, 4 Sector Rashtriya Rifles which was witnessed by approx 287 local people of the village and adjoining areas. SDM, Gundo, SDPO, Gundo, Offrs from 42 SSB and vill sarpanches were the important dignitaries present during the event. Total of 06 hearing aids, 08 walking sticks, 01 crutches and 05 wheel chairs were distributed free of cost by the Army. This project was processed by the unit as a strong desire to assist the people was felt. This project will certainly benefit the locals immensely to lead a normal life upto some extent. It is important to mention here that the Rashtriya Rifles have always done many social activities for Dhadkai in the past.The locals appreciated assistance of Army for the locals of Dhadkai village and were thankful for the support and care provided by Indian Army 26 RR .
