DJ (Donna Jo) born Nov. 1998- passed June 6th 2014. Best dog ever – there is an excellent chance you would agree had you meet her. Last night I lost a best friend and companion that is been a part of my life for the better of her 15 ½ years (about 100 dog years). Age gets us all and DJ was not exception to this, despite her fight spirit to prove time wrong. After our rough long weekend at the cottage, Donna Jo totally rallied with her new homemade and canned food diet. For the past couple of weeks shes had a good appetite, a perky face, and an unceasing enthusiasm for walks. Yesterday morning she was restless and purging. Donna Jo went on a walk along the lake, and even when she was getting tired, she kept pulling along with such strength. Last evening, she passed away at home, with Sharon and I by her side. Beautiful girl, she looked just like she was sleeping peacefully. She leaves behind a number of great friends and wonderful memories. I feel so lucky to have had this wonderful animal in my life.
