DJs that inspired me #2. Sven Väth (OFFICIAL). Ive been following this man for so many years that it feels a bit like a bad romance :p Some years Ive worshipped him, some years Ive pretty much written him off, but every time you keep coming back to this amazing artist. Saw him the first time beginning of 90ies when I travelled all the way to Frankfurt because some dude had talking to me about a club called Dorian Gray where Vath was playing. Imagine my surprise when I arrived and Vath had already left at least two years before that :) :) Luckily enough he played at The Omen so I got a taste of that club and the first time Vath in his habitat. He has been a constant fixture in my nightlife schedule ever since really... see him every year at least two times and its always an element of surprise what he will be like. This year he was simply awesome on tomorrowland f.e. but he is also a part of legendary moments in my life like World Party in Gent (1991), Mayday (1991), Love Parade (in the Tresor garden), Blauersee or at Love Family Park... In a world where everyone is constantly following hypes and syncing and using controllers to hide flaws, Papa Sven remains a perfect example of what turntable skills and a flawless connection with the crowd can do. Ace.
