DKJA students and parents lift spirits of boy with cancer by creating a ‘Batcave’ bedroom! DKJA parent Lisa Lubinsky, her daughter Jordyn (seventh grade), Dalia Fixler (sixth grade) and their families, along with assistance from Home Depot, recently brightened the day of young cancer patient named Simon through the Drops of Hope Organization. With the help of Drops of Hope, bedrooms for children who have cancer are renovated. The amazing team has been working for several months gathering all the supplies they needed to renovate Simons room. Installation started on Friday. Home Depot painted the room, and did various other things. Jordyn and Dalia worked building furniture, cleaning and setting up the room for Simon. “They also spent time visiting with him and getting to know him. They did a really great job. They were also there for the reveal and were able to experience Simons joy. It is really because of Lisa that we were able to be part of this amazing experience. She worked really hard to pull this off for Simon,” said Josie Fixler, Dalia’s mother. For information about Drops of Hope, please contact Lisa Lubinsky, DKJA parent.
