DLA Distribution response to Operation United Assistance touches San Joaquin employee Separated by over 7,000 miles, a day doesnt go by that Anthony Burgher does not worry about his familys health and safety. Burgher, a supervisory resource program specialist at DLA Distribution San Joaquin, Calif., left Monrovia, Liberia, 44 years ago to come to the United States, leaving behind many relatives in an area that is now a hot zone in West Africas Ebola epidemic. Its because of his family in Liberia that DLAs involvement in Operation United Assistance tugs at his heart. He says he is proud and honored to be a part of the U.S. militarys mission to aid in stopping the spread of Ebola in West Africa, particularly Liberia. DLA distribution sites, including DLA Distribution San Joaquin, Calif., have been supporting the packaging and movement of critical supplies to the U.S. Africa Command area of responsibility as part of the Department of Defense mission, supporting the U.S. governments overall response to the Ebola epidemic in West Africa.
