DMK Rehoming backs the repeal of the breed laws. We feel that people should be able to give a pit bull like dog a great home if they want to. We also believe that holding the threat of becoming a criminal over the head of a wonderful family is unfair. Calgary Alberta Canada pass legislation 11 years ago that owners of ALL BREEDS must be licensed to own a dog, to get licensed you go to an owners class, take you dog (whatever breed) to a series of training classes. In 10 years, bites have gone down and Pit Bull like breed ownership has gone up. Also there is laws in place for all dogs that bite - including cute little ones. They have a success on there hands. We should follow this! We have a couple absolutely wonderful Pit Like dogs in the kennels that are waiting for wonderful homes to have them legally. Please Vote to Repeal - we will be.
