DMV Drives License renewal story from this morning: Agent : do you realize your DL is only a permit? Me: How is it that possible? Agent: Well you have a restriction B on your license. Must have someone 21 years or older in the car with you at all times. Did you ever take a driving test? Me :Yes, that would have been 19 years ago in Arkansas. Agent : Did you hand over your license when you got a Texas one? Me : Yes. Dont you find it odd that Im 35 and have been driving for 19 years and would have a restriction? Did the person 13 years ago just mess up? Agent : Could be. I will call Austin and see if they can locate that transaction on microfilm. Please have a seat. (10 minutes go by) Agent : Mr. Henderson, they dont have any record. I can renew your license today but you will need to take a driving test to get that restriction off. BUt we are booked solid for the next 2 months. Once you pass that, you can pay $11 to get the restriction off. Me : Fine. Just interesting that technically Ive been driving illegally in Texas for 13 years. Fun times.
