DO NOT AMEND THE CONSTITUTION!!! NO TO CHA CHA OF BELMONTE AND LIBERAL PARTY!!! WHEN Malacañang SAYS YES, IT MEANS THE OPPOSITE. Lacierda denies Malacañang behind calls to ‘re-elect’ Noy Written by Benjamin B. Pulta Tuesday, 05 August 2014 Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda yesterday shrugged off rumors that the move to extend the term of President Aquino was orchestrated by the Malacañang propaganda team. He, however, admitted that there were individuals who have desired to have the term of President Aquino extended beyond the six-year term limit set by the Constitution. “You know, in my case, personally, people will just approach me and say we hope Noy has another six more years,” Lacierda said. He added those persons who he did not identify were only appreciative of what Aquino had done under the administration. “But these are all people who just voice their sentiments because they see the effect of this administration on the people,” Lacierda said. Although, other people would not agree with those who wanted Aquino’s term to be extended for another six years, Lacierda said Aquino had no interests to have another term in office. “Some may have a different view, understandably. But as far as the President is concerned, we have 696 days left in this administration,” Lacierda said. Lacierda, in denying that the information was orchestrated by the propaganda team of Aquino in Malacañang, said that in their offices, their respective calendars showed how many days would be their stay in office. “You know, the Private Office, the Office of the President, my office, the office(s) of Abi (Valte) and Manolo (Quezon), we all have calendars there. We are counting down the number of days left under this administration,” Lacierda said. The Palace mouthpiece said that prior to the rumors that Aquino may extend his stay in office, there were already attempts or people trying to exert efforts to extend their stay in power. “So there are some people who would like the President to extend his term and this is a sentiment that has been made known to us even before,” Lacierda said. But Aquino had already his resolved not to stay more in the office, Lacierda said “But the President has committed himself to one term and I think 600-plus days is left for him in the government,” Lacierda said. He added they have other desire in their position which is to pass on to the next administration in 2016. “We’re looking forward to the day that we’ll be passing on this government to another equally transformative, transparent administration,” Lacierda said.
