The presentation will be given by; Phil Walker (Chair of the Powerlist Foundation Education Committee): Phil is Founder of a consulting firm that advises large organisations on their customer and software strategy. Prior to Summerswood, Phil was Chief Operating Officer for Capgemini Consulting with responsibility for £1Bill+ of business development. Phil has had senior roles at Xerox, Dell and IBM and is a recognised leader in making organisations more customer orientated. Projects of note include: SAP implementation for TfL, One Number for London for the Mayor and the ‘Lord Darzi’s Report’ on the NHS. He advises the Government on their approach to ‘Big Data’. Phil has been quoted in the Financial Times, Management Today and other noted journals. His recent article on China was featured in the MCA Journal ‘Spectra’. Phil is passionate about education and Chairs the ‘Powerlist’ Foundation Education Committee which is supporting a number of London school children. Steve Kenning - Steve is one of the founders and Chief Executive of the Aspirations Academies Trust. Between 2008 and 2012 Steve was Principal of one of the best schools in the country, Harris City Academy Crystal Palace (HCACP), which, under his leadership, achieved a perfect Ofsted with outstanding in all categories and 99.4% GCSE 5+ A*-C including English and Maths grades in 2012. Under his leadership the federated Harris Post 16 college based at Crystal Palace grew to 450 students. Prior to HCACP he was Headteacher of Callington Community College in Cornwall for 10 years where he led its transformation into a high performing school. Paula Kenning - Paula is one of the founders and Lead Executive Principal of the Aspirations Academies Trust, she is also Principal of Rivers Academy West London. Paula has led significant improvement in two schools over the past 7 years. She has transformed Rivers Academy West London into one of the best schools in Hounslow with significantly improved A level and GCSE results. In May 2012 the leadership and behaviour of the Academy was inspected as Outstanding by Ofsted. Prior to Rivers, Paula was Headteacher of Goffs School in Herfordshire improving the 5+ A*-C including English and Maths GCSE performance from 52% to 72% in one year (2010). Paula will be the Executive Principal of the Powerlist Foundation College, working closely with the new Principal to ensure the very best education is provided for the students. Please note that there are only 50 places available. The schools are in Beckton, East Ham, Eltham Hill School, Fulham, Gladesmore Community School, Greenwich, Heartlands High School, Henry Compton Secondary School, Kingsford Community School, Langdon School, Little Ilford School, Manor Park, Merton, Northumberland Park Community School, Rutlish School, St Ursulas Secondary School, Tottenham, Walthamstow, Willowfield Humanities College and Wood Lane 2) James Keen is compiling a list of markets etc and dates and will share it with you so that you can choose things to get involved with. This will complement the posters and other advertising we are doing in London as we need volunteers to spend an hour or two in shopping centres where our posters are displayed. 3) Do you know a free venue that is suitable for us to use for one of our Information Briefings? If so, please contact James Keen via email: [email protected] 4) Volunteer to make visits to youth organisations, churches and schools in your area to discuss the Powerlist Foundation College. We will ensure you have all the information you need and a senior member of the Powerlist Foundation College will accompany you.
