Aside from tooth loss, other serious complications may also occur, such as ludwig’s angina, a life threatening swelling of the neck which may be caused by infected lower teeth. Root canal therapy can save the tooth, prevent complications and provide immediate relief from the severe tooth pain caused by the pulp inflammation. Root canals are successful in more than 96% of cases, and there is no scientific study that has proven a relationship between root canal and any other diseases.
