DO WE CARE FOR EACH OTHER AS WELL AS THESE MALLARDS CARE FOR EACH - TopicsExpress

DO WE CARE FOR EACH OTHER AS WELL AS THESE MALLARDS CARE FOR EACH OTHER Last year three Mallards came to visit me frequently and we chatted quite a bit. One of the females had no foot; yet managed to get around with the help of her family. Eventually they must have moved away, as I no longer had their visits. Friday they returned and they assured me all is well and that taking pics was, A OK. At times the two intact birds would leave the area and hunt for food while the injured girl sat on my lawn. But, every few minutes the two would return to check and be sure their sister was alight. This went on for an hour or more; and then all three flew away. I marveled at the care and concern two ducks had for another of their kind. I was impressed with the interaction of the three and the way the injured duck hopped right into the mix, to play a little bit, with her family. She was not crying and complaining; she did all she could to the best of her ability. She accepted help as needed. She trusted that her family would be there for her. My family has always been here for me as well; I could relate and understand. B.C.B.
