DO YOU KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT VITAMIN B12? Vitamin B12 is one of the most important vitamins out of the B complex group. Out of the various functions, Vitamin B12 has a key role in the normal functioning of our brain & nervous system. It plays a vital role in the formation of blood. It is involved in the maturation of cells, & also in DNA synthesis. Vitamin B12 deficiency is commonly noticed these days, especially in the one’s following a Vegetarian Diet. The deficiency occurs when there is an absence of a healthy number of Red Blood Cells leading to lack of Oxygen supply to the blood & finally resulting in Vitamin B12 deficiency Anemia. It could be very dangerous if untreated. The deficiency affects the growth & development, nerves, skin, hair, genes & also normal metabolism. The symptoms are pale skin, shortness of breath & fatigue. Best Sources Non-Vegetarian:- Fish, Eggs, Chicken, Meat liver. Vegetarian: - Milk & Milk Products such as cheese, yogurt, Barley grass & Fortified food products such as Breakfast cereals, etc.
