DOCTOR OF WOOD....Exactly nineteen years ago, my father Chief Gabriel Adedeji Osifeso (Doctor of wood) left this sinful world. On that day, if it was possible, to use tears to construct a ladder, to climb to heaven and bring him back home, we could have done so. My father, was my best friend, he always want me around him. In 1975, when l told him that l was relocating to Lagos in search of greener pastures, he didnt take kindly to it, he said, Lai as he used to call me, I want you to stay back in Ijebu, because I forsee that you are going to become the Executive Chairman of our Local Government, in future. I begged him to allow me to go to Lagos first, and that if it is the wish of God, I will come back and become the Chairman. He reluctantly agreed, though he is no more today, but l thank God, for his wish has been fulfilled. Adeleke my immidate younger brother who opted to go abroad, received his blessings, and he is CEO, Topmost Developments Uk Incorp, a property development company. Giwa Sunday Adeyinka, Chairman, Timberland Nig. Ltd (Delords/ Kerewa) who took after our father in the timber trade, is also a success story, likewise Agbaakin Adetola. Adimula Olukorede is also the proprietor Pathfinder Schools, likewise, Adesegun Osifeso who is one the most respected Church, General Overseer in Oyo State today, and also Pastor Cheyi Unik Osifeso etc. l cant continue to count my fathers blessing on and on. He was the peoples warden of Saint Johns African Church for 32years, a feat that earned him the nickname, Asoju.The Balogun egbe Bobagunwa, he later became the Otun Baba Ijoba of St Johns African Church, before his demise. A great Keyboardist, Baami, l still remember your baritone voice whenever you sing from the back side in the Church, your voice overwhelms all other congregations. Young Holly (his first nickname), I didnt know that you are that popular, untill I stated campaing to become the Chairman of our Local Government, We mo fo omo Doctor of wood ni? bare somoluwabi, e je ka dibo un. Even though, you are long gone, your good name still open doors for us in the community. Ao pada lese Jesu....Ma sun Olufe, ko si maa sinmi, gbe orile aya Olorun re, a fe o sugbon Jesu, fe o ju, sunre, sunre, sunre!!!!
