DOCTRINE = Greek word Didache = teaching or instruction. This biblical word can mean the act of teaching or a specific teaching. NO RELIGION is without DOCTRINE in regards to specific teachings. Some man or woman is telling you this is how it is. Even if certain aspects of a religious system are flexible, you will inevitably run into their DOCTRINE that is taught as exclusive, inflexible fact(s). No neutral ground exists in this arena. Without exception, each religion contains claims that are mutually exclusive with other religions and therefore both cannot be true. Examples are teachings about: Who or what is God What happens after death The origin of the universe Justice What is sin and how is it forgiven What is the nature of man? JUST TO NAME A FEW One major key in investigating doctrinal truth claims by any religious teacher is to determine if evidence beyond a reasonable doubt exists to believe their claims. Anyone can claim something. I believe evidence exists, beyond a reasonable doubt, that Jesus died on the cross, was buried, was raised from the dead, and was seen by multiple witnesses. If He did, and I believe He did, then His teachings (doctrine) has certain credibility.
