DOCTRINES: A Hated Word Many say: “Why die for Doctrines? - TopicsExpress

DOCTRINES: A Hated Word Many say: “Why die for Doctrines? Why fight over doctrines? Why all the time speak about doctrines only? Doctrines divide. Just speak about Christ. Preach the gospel of Christ. That is enough. Avoid doctrines.” I really gave some serious thoughts to this suggestion and so-called wise counselling. But then I wonder how to preach the Gospel of Christ without the DOCTRINE of Justification: That man is not justified by works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ --(Romans 4) For this was the DOCTRINE for which Martin Luther stood against Rome and risked his life. This was the doctrine for which many were persecuted, many left their own lands and fled to the strangers, many were burnt alive at stake. I wonder, how to preach the gospel of Christ without the DOCTRINE of man: That he is utterly and totally lost, dead in sin, without hope, without God in the world, condemned to judgement and everlasting hell. I am not sure how to preach the Gospel of Christ without the DOCTRINE of Atonement: That “he (The Christ) has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows, ....smitten by God, and afflicted.... was pierced for our transgressions.........was crushed for our iniquities..........upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace......and with his wounds we are healed. That, He was oppressed, and he was afflicted......and that he was cut off out of the land of the living......stricken for the transgression of my people...” Isaiah 53. I wonder how to preach the Gospel of Christ without these doctrines and terms For, without these the Gospel is no gospel at all. Without them the Gospel is powerless, void of life, unable to draw sinners and save anyone. These are the things for which many left their homes, families, children and relatives behind to proclaim them. Could someone please correct Martin Luther and call those martyrs of protestant reformation fool and stupid men who lost their lives for Doctrines. Now, someone might ask: “Why die for doctrines? Die for Christ” I ask: What does it mean to die for Christ?
