DOD and numerous Veterans groups and associations are trying hard to help our Veterans. Considering the economic adversity, the competition for new highly globally competitive cutting edge technology jobs, and the hidden yet known predisposition of many employers to shy away from hiring Veterans who might go postal, infuse military originated health problems upon their health insurance premiums, or suppress innovation-enterprise synergy with their perceived rigid military culture, this generation of Veterans stands a good chance of enjoying the same effective train wreck as we returning Vietnam Veterans. A Welcome home! and a pat on the back sure does help, and still, those offerings are a far cry from answering Veterans long term core needs. Both George Washington and former Col. Ollie North have said that the quality of our next generation of military will be determined by how we treat our returning Veterans.
