DODGY TOUR OPERATOR: (NT POLICE) A 54-year-old man has been summonsed to appear in court on charges relating to the operation of an unregistered fishing tour charter in King Ash Bay, in the Gulf of Carpentaria. Senior Constable Sean Stanley said the man was apprehended at the King Ash Bay boat ramp at 6:30am yesterday as he prepared to depart with paying customers on an eight day fishing trip. “Water Police have received varying information of these offences occurring in various locations across the Territory and urge anyone with information relating to fisheries offences to contact Police on 131 444. “Not only is this activity illegal, but it has a major impact on our tourism and fisheries industry and Police will employ a zero tolerance policy for those that threaten this unique pastime and valuable industry.” Have you been stung by someone like this?
