DOES NADRA NOW ADMITS? A silent unwritten compromise between Benazir and Nawaz Sharif, as the circumstances suggested, came that on coming power both will forget initiating or re-activating pending court cases against each. That is why during 5 years Zardari government sometime through lips signaled opening of NAB cases against Sharifs but practically did nothing. Now with the new life in Swiss case it appears Nawaz Sharif has decided to open cases gradually time to time against the other. Rauf Klasra in his article today “Please finish it” has well explained this strategy. NDARA filed a Rs. 10 billion damages suit against Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan in 2011. The case was last heard on April 18, 2012 in Islamabad High Court when Chaudhary Nisar sought time to submit his reply to the charge that he allegedly on behest of estate tycoon Malik Riaz Hussain harmed Nadra accusing it having issued bogus CNICs in NA-52 in order to manipulate the 2013 then faraway general elections. On his complaint Civil Lines Rawalpindi Police booked NADRA staff. NADRA in return also filed an FIA. Current Chairman NADRA recently talking with the newspaper showing his ignorance about the case stated that his department can withdraw the suit because Chaudhar Nisar is a respectable politician and he was now the Federal Minister. I am a commoner. I wonder if Choudhary Nisar was not “respectable” when NADRA filed case against him? If one becomes a Minister, does it mean personnel or departments working under him would stop the process of law. Last but not the least by withdrawing the cases would the NADRA accept that it issued the bogus CNICs as Nisar Alleged and that now NADRA does not care about its reputation which was earlier damaged.
