DOG Thanks to everybody for their kind advice about the dog. The good news is that we have now found her owner, who is a very nice French lady who was frantically worried and looking for her dog. The dogs name is Boule and she is 7 years old. Owner and dog have just been reunited and Boule was ecstatically happy. We have also made friends with the owner, who lives nearby. There is however a sequel to this story. Catherine fell in love with Boule and has told me she wants me to get her a dog for Christmas. Accordingly I am now researching breeds. I need a dog that is 1. Good with cats (ie. doesnt hunt or herd them); 2. Likes running (Catherine is an athlete and does an hours run each day. Ideally she would like to take the dog running with her); 3. Is good with children (we are planning to have some). Does anyone have any suggestions? How about a Labrador? After all VVP has one.
