Its made to raise your hopes! spring training. Hope springs eternal EVERY YEAR! Spring, I say! Longer days, better weather, summers just around the corner. Hey look, theres a humming bird! Spring training. Blue skies, green grass. Is there anything more beautiful than a ball field just before the first pitch? My Cubs win on opening day! Were in first place! Magic number is 161! Its spring, optimism reigns! Summer brings a slower pace to life, baseball parallels the summer rhythms, lose today? Short term disappointment, another game tomorrow Watch out folks, its a false hope. Baseball raises our hopes in the spring, but the game is also made to break your heart. It ends in October, your team suffers a tragic exit from the playoffs. The days are getting shorter, the weather is changing, winter snows and rains are just ahead (well cept here in So Cal). Dark result, dark days ahead, empty ballparks and it seems like forever till spring gives us hope again Dont fire anybody, its not their fault, its the nature of the game, it gives us hope then breaks our hearts. But, I cant wait for spring training, just about four months away and Im sure this year the Cubs are gonna win it all!
