DOGGY TREATS! There was an excellent markdown at Kroger yesterday. 1.25 lb. packages of chicken hearts & gizzards for $.50 each! I bought the four they had left. This is truly a favorite treat for the Covenant Farm dogs. I lay them out on a cookie sheet with parchment or waxed paper underneath, and separating layers (if you have a lot of them). Make sure you separate them so they arent touching each other. Let them freeze overnight, then just gather them up and put them in a ziplock bag. They dont freeze rock-hard, so your pup will gnaw on it a bit rather than just swallowing it whole like he or she might when its thawed. I got 4 quart bags out of this, 5 POUNDS of all natural, excellent dog treats for $2! Warms the cockles of my cheap, Scottish heart. :)
