DOMESTIC ENGINEERING 101: The savvy homemaker changes all the bed linen in her home each and every day! And that is because she celebrates her God-given role to guide the house (1 Timothy 5:14). Indeed, she never allows a day to go by without putting fresh pillowcases, fitted sheets and flat sheets on every bed in every room in the house. Because of the rapid way in which dirt and oil accumulate, and germs and dust mites proliferate, she realizes it is injurious to the health of her husband and children to let a day go by without giving them fresh bed linen. Not only so but the savvy homemaker is so on point that she understands the science of pillow care. She knows dust mites, members of the arachnoid family, to colonize in the crevices of pillows. As Mark R. Neustrom of Kansas City Allergy and Asthma Associates says of dust mites, You cant see them, but theyre concentrated where people are in things like bedding and carpeting. That is precisely why the truly savvy homemaker replaces all the pillows in her home every three months. To her, the health of her family takes precedence over the cost of cleanliness. And that is also why Scripture praises her to the sky, exulting, Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all (Proverbs 31:29). Virtuous Woman!
