DONT BE AFRAID OF THE DARK was one of those 70s TV movies that seems to have left an indelible impression on many who saw it back in the day. I dont think I did see it and, probably as a result of this, when I got around to watching the WAC DVD, it didnt hit me as anything special. To its credit, the 2010 remake is a fairly restrained effort, possibly to keep it in keeping with the appeal of the original, but alas it doesnt really have anything much to offer anyone who doesnt want to compare the two films, and its director unsurprisingly still only has this title on his CV.
