DONT FALL VICTIM TO LATEST PHONE SCAM Do you answer your mobile - TopicsExpress

DONT FALL VICTIM TO LATEST PHONE SCAM Do you answer your mobile if you dont recognise the number? What about an unexpected call from a foreign country code? We would advise you proceed with caution after a recent suspicious incident. On Tuesday morning (Nov 11) a Nottinghamshire woman received a call from a number starting in +92. The caller spoke in a foreign language that she couldnt understand so she hung up. What followed was a number of text messages from the number. The incident is similar to ones that are happening across the country in which offenders call from a +92 number and attempt to hustle information out of unsuspecting victims over promises of a competition prize or the return of a mobile phone or other items of value. Victims face large bills for picking up the call and/or responding to the text messages. Dont be scammed. If you are unsure of the origin of a call dont answer it and certainly dont respond to texts from unknown callers. Report incidents of this nature to us on 101.
