DONT READ THIS POST if you plan to see the movie The Maze Runner because I am about to give my take on what I just watched and I dont want to ruin the plot for anyone.........................Stop reading lol..............................Okay. You had your chance ;) All in all, it was a great movie. I definitely intend to watch part two. But, let me say this again: the movie/music industry is spoon feeding us that wicked is good and that everything is going to change at every corner. And yes, both of those lines are in the movie several times. Wicked is good. Things are going to change. The plot of the movie is based on the young men that are trapped in the glades, surrounded by a maze. If you will notice, the maze is divided into 8 sections (kind of like The Hunger Games was divided into 12 divisions...kind of like FEMA has 12 regions of the United States in real life). And then they throw in a female. Hmmmm. As they get bolder in their attempts to escape the maze, they find that they have all been put there on purpose and were all being watched. Sort of a test to see who does what and who survives the daily challenges (sort of like the chess game we humans like to call life). Near the end of the movie, you find out that the Earth has been scorched by the Sun (theres a shocker) and that these young men and this young woman have been groomed for the maze since they were children. Wicked is good. Everything is going to change. And of course, the letters W.C.K.D. is on the machinery and beasties and corporation that has been watching them and systematically trying to destroy them in this crazy survival game. But then, to throw the movie lover for a loop, a syringe/antidote for the beasties sting has the letters W.C.K.D. on it and is the very thing that can save you....because wicked is good (do you have that phrase embedded in you conscious yet?). This movie reminded me of watching the movie Maleficent from Disney (Disney is not what it is cracked up to be in case you werent aware). In Maleficent the first thing I notice is the Baphomet horns on the awesome little girl who grows up angry and evil after a betrayal. But in the end, the Angelina Jolie/Baphomet version of the girl tries to do the right thing and you end up feeling sorry for her and rooting for the Baphomet underdog...or so they hope. Remember: Wicked is good. My Jerry Springer final thought: Good movie, as long as you are watching it with the eyes to see, the ears to hear, and your conspiracy theory t-shirt on ;)
