DON’T VOTE FOR TREASURY LOOTERS – BUHARI Category: News Published on Wednesday, 24 September 2014 05:00 Written by Usman A. Bello, Lokoja Hits: 525 All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain retired General Muhammadu Buhari yesterday urged Nigerians not to vote for treasury looters in the 2015 general elections. Buhari spoke in Lokoja, Kogi State at a rally for the defected former acting governor Clarence Olafemi, former House of Assembly speaker Abdullahi Bello, former Nigeria ambassador to Botswana Isaac Onu. and over 5,000 former members of the Peoples Democratic Party. Buhari said APC would make the change in 2015 where stealing must stop in order to entrench development and good governance. “Stealing must be stopped in 2015 and we will make sure that nobody takes money from the treasury and puts it in his pocket because it is the peoples’ money,” he said. “The money is not meant for stealing but for the development. So you should be up and doing so that we can change the system from councillor to the presidency.” Buhari said the PDP government had failed the nation and that by the time the APC takes over leadership of the country, they would ensure that education, water and other social amenities would be provided. Receiving the new members, APC National Chairman John Odigie Oyegu said it is a party of fairness. Prominent party members who attended the rally include former vice president Atiku Abubakar, Governor of Kano State Rabiu Kwankwaso, APC Deputy National Chairman Senator Lawal Shuaibu, National Deputy Chairman South West Engr Segun Oni, former governor of Kogi State Prince Abubakar Audu, APC National Treasurer Bala Muhammed and National Organising Secretary Osita Osinazo.
