DORIDS The Otherside Otherside The Bread is a video piece created by the Belgian painter Michaël Borremans that came to being in 2012. We were lucky enough to be commissioned by the artist to join him in remodeling the original work, as the painter was invited to take part at the exposition “De Zee” (The Sea). This exhibition is the last show that was initiated by the fine arts curator Jan Hoet, who passed away earlier this year. Because of this event, the purpose of the show became extended as an hommage to the famous curator. The purpose of remodeling the original artwork, The Bread, was in favour of capturing the erratic nature of the sea, without shedding the sacrality of the original piece.
