DOZEN WAYS IF HONEST INTENT ALIVE I am a senior citizen. I don’t’ believe politics, collective welfare by NGOs, so called public representatives etc. Throughout my life I never attended any political jalsa, never joined any trade union, never participated voting in my professional body. Based on what I saw 1972 and later through my naked eyes as a young I believe PPP was and would remain for ever the dead dog in our national stinking well. With each passing day the seed of devil which PPP seeded grew further strengthening thorny roots in economy, general administration, lawlessness etc. The next devil was the “heavy mandate” in 1997 to PML-N the biggest ever mistake by the nation. I can not even dream of that any real good from PML-N would ever come for the nation. The very step taken namely the Budget is a naked evidence of it. Day and night every talk show and column since a week speaks loudly. There are dozens of ways for real re-building the economically crippled country provided however one has real honest as a God fearing person the intent. When the intent is lacking then mouth can bring out words only like “no one will be allowed to play with life and property of people”. Had Nawaz Sharif or his so called economic expert Finance Minister who previously caused the nation a big international fine and bad image by presenting fudged figures, he could had taken many revolutionary steps without causing any ripple amongst the ordinary man. For example as one in the budget speech the first step should had been a Law, Ordinance or whatsoever prescribing immediate hearing of all loan default cases pending in the courts. Either the Government itself directly, through parliament or through a request to the Supreme Court of Pakistan desired immediate start of hearing of all such cases the last hearing of which was pending since more than 3 months. Through this law, office order or through SC Administrative Order all courts; lower or superior should had been directed to hear all these cases daily, no adjournment and a decision in a fortnight as almost all deliberation on these cases have already been done. Where any advocate representing bank or defendant wanted adjournment on the ground that he was to attend a superior court that day, he be stopped attending superior court but the case of loan default. Etc, etc. No, Sir, Nawaz Sharif will not and never do it. Our most respected and dignified His Lordship Chief Justice of Pakistan hearing the Tax case, according to the newspapers, said that people will lose trust in parliament if provisional tax was allowed. With much respect this senior citizen if he is excused and pardoned would humbly wish to say that, My Lordship, people “will” not merely lose confidence on the parliament which in fact they already have long lost but would also likely lose trust in the whole judicial system if cases like bank defaults remain in courts pending unheard of years over years and where the concerned judge periodically checking list of his court cases does not wonder why so and so file was getting thicker and thicker dust and on “what”. The other day if memories of this senior citizen is not misguiding him in this too old age read a small mentioned in a column (name of columnist not coming in memory now) about what a well known other columnist Noori allegedly saw in the lower court.
