DPWH completes Ecija infra projects (7/31/2013) The two district engineering offices of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Nueva Ecija have completed vital infrastructure projects. First District Engineering Office chief Ramiro Cruz said they have completed the rehabilitation of the 17-kilometer San Jose City-Rizal Road at a cost of P1.8 billion. The road links San Jose City to the towns of Rizal, Pantabangan, Baler, Aurora, Baguio, Isabela and Manila. Another completed project was the improvement of the damaged 1.8 kilometer portion in Llanera of the Pinagpanaan-Rizal-Pantabangan Road. The Second District Engineering Office under Ulysses Llado, on the other hand, completed an important flood control project. A 513 meter earth dike and a 200 meter slope protection was constructed to stop the overflow of the dike at Rio Chico River along the towns of Cabiao and San Antonio. Llado said farms within the vicinity of Rio Chico which have been silted with lahar can now be tilled since they will not be flooded when rains come. ###
