DR. MAYA ANGELOU TO VISIT CAMPUS The William and Mary Student Assembly and Alma Mater Productions are honored to invite Dr. Maya Angelou to The College of William and Mary on Tuesday, April 15, 2014. Dr. Angelou, hailed as one of the greatest voices of contemporary black literature, will be speaking at the College as the centerpiece of I Am William and Mary Week! Dr. Angelou is a world-renown poet, historian, author, actress, playwright, civil-rights activist, producer and director. She has authored twelve best-selling books and numerous magazine articles, earning her Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award Nominations. William and Mary is pleased to showcase Dr. Angelous talents as part of a week-long celebration of diversity here at the College. This event is made possible by a collaboration between the W&M Student Assembly, the Alma Mater Productions, the Center for Student Leadership Development,the Center for Student Diversity, the Office of University Development, and the Presidents Office with additional support from the Janet and Peter Atwater Lecture Endowment. Important Ticket Information Tickets for this event will be free to students, but you must register for a ticket online and bring it with you the day of the event. Student tickets will be made available on March 19 at 9am to be reserved online. The link to reserve your ticket will be sent out on Wednesday morning via email and will also be made available on the Facebook event page. Tickets will be made available for purchase by faculty and staff members at $10 and the general public at $15 beginning March 21. You will be able to print your ticket, pick up it up at the box office during business hours, or pick it up the day of the event. Seating for the event will be first come, first serve and you must have a ticket to enter the arena. I hope you will join us on April 15th as we welcome Dr. Angelou to William & Mary!
