DR. RAMPHELE/D.A. DEAL OFF! Various news organizations are reporting that Dr. Mamphele Ramphele has pulled out of the deal to be the DAs presidential candidate at the upcoming National General Elections... I posted a few days ago that each time someone decides to take on the ANC, the efforts usually collapse in a heap of confusion even before the effort leaves the starting blocks. The good doctors name might not survive this latest move, since we had seen her doing a variety of tv, newspaper and radio interviews about her move to join the DA. I lamented in my post that some senior people in her party had said that they knew nothing of the move until about an hour before the announcement with Madame Hellen Zille. We can only suspect that her followers might have dissuaded her, but I think her latest stunt will cost her more than the damage the move to the DA was going to inflict on her. Now she will be seen as unreliable and indecisive. And they even kissed to seal the deal!!! I read a peace this morning in City Press where Xolela Mangcu was defending the good doctors move to the DA. I wonder what he is going to say now! I told you, ukhongolose unomuthi, uyaloya! Phambili ne two thirds majority!
