DRIVEWAY 101. There are a number of things that can damage a driveway and the structures around it. The most common one being DRAINAGE. If your seeing raised slabs, sinking, cracking, or your slab sounds hollow when you tap it with a board, then more than likely there are some drainage issues in the area. So many downspouts are not routing water away from your concrete and many slabs have low spots where water settles. This can create much more expensive problems than just fixing the problem now. Foundations and outbuildings can be damaged, fall and trip hazards can develop, and the overall look of your property can degrade quickly. This is the first of a series of post I will be doing to help your property, and the most basic foundation for all your things, last for years longer. Just look for the DRIVEWAY 101 heading.
