DS9S6E22 - Valiant: Jake and Nog travel to Ferenginar. Nog has a diplomatic message for the Grand Nagus from Starfleet. Shortly after leaving the Starbase a wing of JemHadar fighters flies over them. Suddenly, one of the fighters turns around to pursue them. The USS Valiant comes to their rescue. It is filled with the cadets of Red Squad who were on training mission when war broke out. With all the regular Star fleet officers killed in battle, red squad members have taken over the Valiant. The captain gives Nog a field promotion to Commander makes him Chief Engineer. The Valiant cant seem to go faster than warp 3.2. The Cadets have taken it upon themselves to complete the mission assigned to there dead captain, to locate the new JemHadar battleship being built by the Dominion. With Nogs improvements in Engineering the Valiant locates that ship. It is three times larger than the regular galaxy class starship and has twice the firepower. The cadet captain talks the crew into attacking that special JemHadar ship. For interfering with crew morale the Cadet Captain has Jake thrown in the brig. They detected a flaw in the ships design they believe they can exploit. The attack seems to be going well. They hit the target but it didnt cause a cascading failure like they thought. The JemHadar destroys the Valiant. Only Jake, Nog and one Crewman made it to an escape pod.
