DSLR scanning question. Will the colour temperature of the lightbox used effect the contrast of a scanned B&W negative. I noticed when using my overhead projector scanner that the scanned negs look fairly muddy and lacking in contrast, i thought the negs looked fairly good and i held them against a light. The light from the OH projector is very warm/ yellow tinted but not tungsten. I did a few experiments using an iPad as the light box which has a much whiter light and the negs did look a bit better. The iPad however is not as bright and Im not sure if its just the exposure difference that is causing it. Would a whiter/brighter light source make for better contrast in the scanned negs??
