DUBAI DANCES AWAY Everyone is wondering what to wear to Rizwan Sajans Bling at the Beach birthday party. I have already advised a couple of friends but am myself unsure of how to dress up? Blingy clothes are fine but matching footwear can get dicey on the sand. I am apprehensive about those poor women wearing expensive high heels that just dig into the soft surface. Rizwan has given me an advance inkling of what he will be wearing. With all those sparkling and shimmering crystals and sequins, I am sure there will be enough illumination to light up Palm Jumeirah. And I must tell you that this is one party everyone who is anyone on Dubais social scene will attend. Meanwhile for Hitesh and Minal Bodanis Touch of Pink party, I am sure all the guests will come up with trendy western options. No one wears ethnic at the Bodanis as the have this fashionable globe-trotting image and everyone adheres to that. And I am absolutely sure all of Minals designer friends will take their pink sartorial adventurism to new limits. I have heard that this time they have kept their guest list a little shorter than usual. Last time they had problems with gatecrashers so this time security will be tight to keep the unwanted and uninvited away from this happening do. Since Minal Patwardhan Andrade and Joseph Andrades party is on Christmas Day, I am sure most guests will come attired in red and black. Minal and Joseph are a fun-loving couple and their parties are full of joy and bonhomie. For Anjili Samtani-Radia and Anand Radias champagne brunch, the trend will be smart chic with colourful springy dresses for women and funky shirts for men. At least thats what I assume. Sunil Vaswani and Rita Vaswanis Vas Vegas themed New Year bash is something that everyone is looking forward to. I know most men will probably wear tuxedos and the women formal gowns but I have something really unusual and I wish to start off the New Year with an individual fashion statement rather than being part of the crowd. Now let me see if my new style is appreciated or not. Raj and Hafida Shetty are also throwing a New Year Eve dinner at their Palm Jumeirah residence to which also I have been invited. At Fakruddin and Faridah F. Ajmals New Year day dinner, I shall wear traditional Indian as they like my ethnic avatar while at Sumeet Khubchandani and Vidhi Khubchandanis party, I shall bring out a sweet shirt to impress these sweet people. At Rashmi Adnani and Kunal Adnanis new born sons Ishaans kirtan at the Jebel Ali Gurudwara, it shall be elegant Indian and at Banu Khatris birthday dinner for close friends, it shall be colourful Indian. So this is the agenda for a very busy social fortnight ahead as the City of Gold parties on relentlessly.
