DUBAI. HI TEA AT BURJ AL ARAB by The Traveller He who goes to Dubai must visit Burj al Arab... Not doing it is the equivalent of going to Paris and not having a picture at the Eiffel Tower. Useless trip, significant loss of bragging right. The only seven-star hotel in the world is the number one tourist destination in the emirate. Taller than the Eiffel Tower, the facility stands alone on an artificial island off the shore of Jumeirah Beach. It is shaped like a dhow (Arab boat). Everything at the landmark is of extreme luxury, down to the gold-plated doors and elevators. Exactly like told in the fairy tales of One-Thousand-and-One Nights. Burj al Arab offers 202 suites, the least expensive at $1,500 a night. The royal suites go for up to $25,000 a night. Guests are picked up at the airport by helicopter or Rolls Royce. No one is allowed across the bridge leading to the island unless they have a reservation for lobby coffee ($80), lunch ($250+) or dinner ($500+). The British Hi Tea ($100-$200) stands somewhere in-between. The Travel-O-Ganza group enyoyed the aristocratic British Hi Tea, in the grand salon at Burj al Arb, on October 11, third day of our Dream Trip to Dubai. That was a unique experience. See the faces in these pictures; they will answer your questions, you will share their amazement.... (The Traveller, Saturday, October 19, 2013) youtube/watch?v=jRHpyq7R7xY&feature=youtube_gdata
