DUBLIN, 27/03/2014 - A man remains in critical condition this morning after he was shot in a church car park in west Dublin yesterday. The man, who is in his 30s, was shot multiple times in an incident on Bawnogue Road about 6.15pm. It is believed the wounded man managed to drive to Clondalkin Garda station and walked through the station door before he collapsed. Paramedics were called and he was brought by ambulance to Tallaght hospital. Dublin Labour MEP Emer Costello said she condemned last night’s shooting of the man in Clondalkin. Ms Costello said that the current violence between “feuding gangs” in Dublin is one of the city’s major scourges and was spreading fear among communities. “Last night’s attempted murder of a man in his 30s in Clondalkin is the latest incident in a dispute between drug gangs in Crumlin and Drimnagh,” she said. “While there may be understandable fear among the community in coming forward with information, I would urge any witnesses to assist Gardaí.”
